A simple and delicious Italian-inspired pasta casserole that’s perfect for busy weeknights. This recipe combines pasta, pepperoni, marinara sauce, and cheese for a comforting family meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Ziti or penne pasta
  • 6 ounces Pepperoni slices
  • 24 ounces Marinara sauce
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Red pepper flakes to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente.
  3. In a bowl, combine marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Drain pasta and toss with olive oil.
  5. Add marinara sauce mixture to pasta and stir.
  6. Mix in half the mozzarella and half the pepperoni.
  7. Transfer pasta mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. Top with remaining pepperoni, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake for 10-15 minutes more until golden brown.
  11. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with basil.

Notes

  • Use your favorite pasta shape.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spice level.
  • This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and baked when ready.
