Ingredients
Scale
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
Sesame seeds, for garnish
Green onions, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
In a bowl, combine chicken pieces, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
Drain the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade. Add the cornstarch slurry to the reserved marinade and whisk until smooth.
Place the marinated chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Air fry at 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until cooked through and lightly browned.
While the chicken is cooking, heat the reserved teriyaki sauce mixture in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
Once the chicken is cooked, toss it with the thickened teriyaki sauce.
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
For crispier chicken, ensure the chicken is not overcrowded in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
You can adjust the amount of ginger and garlic to your preference.
