BBQ Pork Chops with Sweet Smoky Glaze

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops about 1 inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ยฝ teaspoon black pepper
  • ยฝ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ยฝ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ยฝ cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand
  • ยผ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ยฝ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400ยฐF). Lightly oil the grates.
  2. Pat the pork chops dry. Rub them with olive oil and season with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Let them sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, whisk together the barbecue sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  4. Place the pork chops on the grill and cook for 5-6 minutes per side.
  5. During the last 2 minutes of grilling, brush a generous amount of the glaze onto the pork chops. Flip once to caramelize the glaze.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145ยฐF (63ยฐC).
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
