Cheesy Ricotta Mozzarella Parmesan Lasagna

A classic Italian-inspired lasagna featuring layers of tender noodles, a rich meat sauce, and a creamy blend of ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, provolone, and goat cheeses.

  • 12 pieces lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup crumbled goat cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups cooked ground beef or turkey
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook lasagna noodles in salted boiling water until al dente (8-10 minutes). Drain, rinse with cold water, and lay flat on a towel to dry.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook ground beef or turkey with salt and pepper until browned. Drain fat. Add marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, basil, parsley, ยฝ cup Parmesan, ยฝ cup mozzarella, ยฝ cup provolone, and goat cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer with 4 noodles, one-third of the ricotta mixture, one-third of the meat sauce, and a sprinkle of remaining cheeses. Repeat layers twice, ending with cheese.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free noodles for dietary needs.
  • Substitute ground turkey for beef to lower saturated fat.
  • Assemble a day ahead and refrigerate; adjust baking time.
  • Loosely cover with foil if the top browns too quickly.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
