Cheesy Thumbprint Appetizers

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add cold water and mix until a dough forms.
  5. Chill the dough for 15 minutes.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese and chives.
  7. Roll the dough into small balls.
  8. Press your thumb into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
  9. Fill the indentations with the cream cheese mixture.
  10. Place the appetizers on a baking sheet.
  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • You can add a pinch of garlic powder to the dough for extra flavor.
  • Garnish with extra chives before serving.
