Chocolate Peppermint Bark

A simple recipe for homemade chocolate peppermint bark, perfect for holidays.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave. Stir in peppermint extract. Spread evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Melt the white chocolate chips in a separate double boiler or microwave. Spread evenly over the semi-sweet chocolate layer.
  4. Immediately sprinkle the crushed candy canes over the white chocolate layer.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
  6. Break into pieces.

Notes

  • For a cleaner break, score the bark with a knife before it fully hardens.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
