Cottage Cheese Apple Pie

A simple apple pie recipe using cottage cheese for a creamy texture.

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, cottage cheese, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Dot the top of the filling with the butter pieces.
  6. Cover the pie with foil.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Let the pie cool before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter pie, you can add more sugar to the filling.
  • If you don’t have cottage cheese, you can substitute it with ricotta cheese.
