Cowboy Mushrooms

Sautรฉed mushrooms with bacon and onions, seasoned with garlic and Worcestershire sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving drippings in the skillet.
  2. Add butter to the skillet. Add onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. Add mushrooms to the skillet and cook until browned and tender, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and cooked bacon.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • These mushrooms are a great side dish for steak or chicken.
