Creamy Alfredo Pasta

A plate of Creamy Alfredo Pasta Recipe, garnished with fresh parsley.

A simple and delicious recipe for classic creamy Alfredo pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fettuccine pasta
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook fettuccine according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. While pasta is cooking, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce slightly thickens.
  5. Stir in salt and pepper.
  6. Gradually whisk in grated Parmesan cheese until smooth and melted.
  7. Add cooked fettuccine to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, you can add a splash of white wine to the skillet after cooking the garlic.
  • Feel free to add cooked chicken, shrimp, or broccoli to make it a complete meal.
