Simple recipe for making potato wedges crispy in the oven.

  • 4 large Russet potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and dry the potatoes thoroughly. Cut each potato lengthwise into 8 wedges. Do not peel the potatoes.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the potato wedges with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the wedges in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are not touching.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Flip the wedges using a spatula.
  7. Bake for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before drying and seasoning.
  • Do not overcrowd the baking sheet; use two sheets if necessary for best results.
