Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  5. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear salmon, skin-side down, for 2-3 minutes until crispy.
  6. Flip salmon and pour the honey garlic mixture over the fillets.
  7. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, ensure the salmon is very dry before searing.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic and ginger to your preference.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
