Garlic Chicken Fried Rice - Tasty

A simple and flavorful chicken fried rice recipe with a prominent garlic taste.

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 3 cups cooked and cooled white rice
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add minced garlic and chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add frozen peas and carrots and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Push vegetables to one side of the skillet. Pour beaten eggs into the empty side and scramble until cooked.
  6. Add cooked rice, cooked chicken, soy sauce, and oyster sauce to the skillet. Stir well to combine and heat through, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Stir in sesame oil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For best results, use day-old rice.
  • Adjust soy sauce and oyster sauce to your preference.
  • Add other vegetables like corn or bell peppers if desired.
