Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • For the Tzatziki:
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup grated cucumber, squeezed dry
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, red onion, minced garlic, panko breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  4. Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the meatballs for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
  5. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  6. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tzatziki. In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, dill, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Stir well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the Greek turkey meatballs with the tzatziki sauce.

Notes

  • You can make the tzatziki sauce ahead of time and refrigerate it.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
  • These meatballs are great served with pita bread and a Greek salad.
