Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 8 large lettuce leaves (such as butter or iceberg)
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts, for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour the sauce over the ground beef mixture in the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  6. Spoon the ground beef mixture into the lettuce leaves.
  7. Garnish with chopped peanuts and fresh cilantro.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef.
  • Serve immediately.
