Amazing Halloween Brownies: So Fudgy

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • Halloween-themed sprinkles or candy decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and both types of chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir the sugar into the chocolate mixture.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Fold in the nuts, if using.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  10. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  11. Once cooled, decorate the brownies with Halloween-themed sprinkles or candy decorations.
  12. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For extra fudgy brownies, bake for a shorter time.
  • For chewier brownies, use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar.
  • You can add chocolate chips for extra chocolatey flavor.
