Heart-Shaped Egg Toast - Tasty

Simple method for making heart-shaped toast with an egg cooked in the center.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon butter or oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut a heart shape from the center of one slice of bread.
  2. Melt butter or heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Place both slices of bread in the skillet.
  4. Crack the egg directly into the heart-shaped hole in the first slice of bread.
  5. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the bottom of the toast is golden brown.
  6. Carefully flip the bread and egg. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes, or until the egg reaches your desired doneness.
  7. Remove from the skillet. Season the egg and toast with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve the egg-filled toast piece with the cutout piece of toast beside it.

Notes

  • You can use any type of bread you prefer.
  • For a firmer yolk, cook longer on the second side.
  • Add a pinch of cheese on top of the egg before flipping for extra flavor.
