Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta

A quick and flavorful pasta dish featuring shrimp, garlic, lemon, and herbs.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp.
  3. Add remaining 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet. Sautรฉ garlic and red pepper flakes for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add lemon zest, lemon juice, and oregano. Return shrimp and cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss, adding reserved pasta water to create a sauce.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice as needed. Add more pasta water if dry.
  6. Remove from heat, sprinkle with parsley, and toss. Serve with Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • Reserve pasta water to help create a smooth sauce.
  • Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Adjust seasoning to your preference.
