Zesty Lemon Pepper Wings

Crispy, baked chicken wings coated in a bright and peppery lemon seasoning. A perfect appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings, fresh or thawed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Fresh lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC).
  2. Rinse and thoroughly pat dry the chicken wings with paper towels.
  3. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove wings from the oven. If desired, sprinkle with additional fresh lemon juice and cracked black pepper.
  8. Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Patting the wings dry is crucial for achieving crispy skin.
  • For extra zest, add more lemon zest after baking.
  • Adjust cayenne pepper to your spice preference.
