A quick and flavorful dish featuring savory ground beef and noodles in a rich Mongolian sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, cornstarch, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  5. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the beef. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, increase the red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute other types of noodles if desired.
  • Ensure the cornstarch is fully dissolved in the sauce mixture to prevent lumps.
