Oven Baked Pork Chops that Stay Tender

  • 1โ€“2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ยฝ tsp salt
  • ยผ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
  • Pork chops (at least 1-inch thick)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and brown sugar.
  3. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Drizzle them with olive oil and rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides.
  4. Place the seasoned pork chops on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20โ€“25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 140โ€“145ยฐF (63ยฐC).
  6. Remove the pork chops from the oven and let them rest for 5โ€“10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Choose pork chops that are at least 1-inch thick to help them retain moisture.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure you do not overcook the chops. Remove them from the oven when the internal temperature is 135โ€“140ยฐF, as the temperature will continue to rise while they rest.
  • Allowing the pork chops to rest after cooking helps redistribute the juices, resulting in more tender and flavorful meat.
