Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 shallot, peeled and minced
  • ¾ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled and minced
  • 17 ounce package potato gnocchi
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, shredded fine
  • 2 tablespoon fresh basil, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to broil. Place a large skillet over medium low heat. Add the olive oil. Add the shallot and salt. Cook for two minutes, stirring often. Add the minced garlic and cook for 60 seconds.
  2. Pour in the gnocchi and marinara sauce. Heat the sauce for a few minutes, stirring often. Cover with a lid and cook for 2 minutes. Reduce heat to low and cook an additional 4-6 minutes until the gnocchi is fully cooked, stirring halfway through.
  3. Uncover and sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the top. Place the skillet in the oven and broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese bubbles.
  4. Let the dish cool for a few minutes. Top with fresh basil. Serve.

Notes

  • You can add more marinara sauce when serving if you prefer a saucier dish.
