Smashburger Quesadillas

Quick and easy smashburger quesadillas made with ground beef, cheese, and onions, served with salsa.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • Salsa, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in diced onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until onions are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. On one tortilla, layer the cooked beef mixture followed by cheese. Top with another tortilla.
  4. Heat a clean skillet over medium heat with cooking oil. Cook the quesadilla for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from skillet, cool briefly, slice into wedges, and serve with salsa.

Notes

  • You can substitute the cheese blend with your favorite type of cheese.
  • Sour cream can be used as an alternative to salsa for serving.
