Ingredients
Scale
8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
1 cup BBQ sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Place chicken thighs skin-side down and cook for 6–7 minutes until golden brown.
Flip the chicken, reduce heat to medium, and cook another 6–7 minutes.
In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce with brown sugar until well combined.
Brush the BBQ mixture over the chicken and continue cooking, flipping occasionally, until caramelized and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), about 5–6 minutes.
Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in BBQ sauce for 1–2 hours before cooking.
