1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and dried
4 ounces dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher), chopped
1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
Instructions
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval. If using, stir in the coconut oil until smooth.
Hold each strawberry by the stem end and dip it into the melted chocolate, coating about two-thirds of the berry.
Place the dipped strawberries onto the prepared baking sheet.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
Serve chilled.
Notes
For extra decoration, drizzle melted white chocolate over the set dark chocolate.
Make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping; moisture prevents the chocolate from adhering.
