A simple, low-sugar treat perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and dried
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher), chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil (if using) in a double boiler or microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
  3. Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, coating about two-thirds of the way up.
  4. Place the dipped strawberries on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
  6. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • For extra texture, sprinkle a few chopped nuts or sea salt flakes onto the wet chocolate before it sets.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
