Simple Pan-Seared Chicken Breast

A quick and easy recipe for cooking tender chicken breasts on the stovetop.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  2. Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Carefully place the chicken breasts in the hot skillet.
  5. Sear for 5 to 7 minutes on the first side until golden brown.
  6. Flip the chicken and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • You can add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice after resting for extra flavor.
  • For even cooking, pound the chicken breasts to a uniform thickness before seasoning.
